The US Soccer Development Academy mission is "a program that provides education, resources, and support to impact everyday club environments that will develop world-class players."

Increased Training and More Meaningful Games

The USSDA is a partnership between the USSF and select clubs around the nation to increase training time, less total games and more meaningful games.

To maintain focus on training, Academy teams participate in four trainings a week throughout a 10-month season. Due to the increased training requirements, FCGS is able to provide even more including: sports performance training, futsal, and video analysis.

Each academy team plays approximately more than 40 games a season according to FIFA re-entry rules against the top youth clubs in the country. The USSDA is an extremely exclusive selective national league consisting of 103 participating in the U13/14, U15/16 and U17/18 clubs.

Most USSDA games and showcases are observed and evaluated by a US Soccer National Team Staff member. Since 2007, 2,000 instances of players from 72 different Academy clubs have been called into Youth or Senior National Team events. Academy Showcases and games are premier scouting events for colleges. Games are regularly scouted by college coaches with the USSDA showcase regularly boasting 400-500 college coaches.

F.C. Golden State US Soccer Development Academy

F.C. Golden State is a full participating member in the USSDA fielding a U13/14, U15/16, and U17/18 teams.
F.C. Golden State Academy's main objective is to develop the top talent in Southern California from U6-U18 by:

1. Creating an environment that demands excellence in all aspects of individual and team performance through professional level coaching
2. Maintain an atmosphere that nurtures young players in order to achieve their maximum potential
3. Instilling a culture of hard work, honesty, excellence and pride

In addition to the USSDA, FC Golden State fields PDA teams from U8 to U14 that compete in USYSA Leagues and CalSouth State/National Cups. The PDA provides a direct pathway to the USSDA by providing the same training mission, methodology, and periodization of the USSDA to younger players implemented with three training sessions a week under the guidance of the USSDA directors and staff.
